On a brisk April morning in Inglewood, courage and community collided in the boldest way possible, at the annual Naked ESPY event, where participants quite literally stripped down to raise awareness and funds for men’s health through the Prostate Cancer Centre (PCC).
Dozens of brave souls bared it all (well, almost) to walk, jog, and strut their stuff down 9th Avenue, turning heads and turning up support for a cause that hits close to home for many. From local business leaders and community members to PCC staff, including some familiar faces, this year’s participants reminded us all that vulnerability can be a powerful tool for change.
“Taking off your clothes in public is a bit nerve-wracking,” said Jeff Davison, PCC CEO and participant. “But when you think about what some of our patients go through, the fear, the uncertainty, this is nothing. This is about showing up and standing up for them.”
The 2025 edition of Naked ESPY raised over $165,000, with every dollar going toward the Prostate Cancer Centre’s mental health programming, a growing focus in the PCC’s wraparound care for men navigating prostate cancer. The funds will help provide essential mental health services such as counseling, group support, and wellness workshops, resources that are often overlooked but deeply needed.
Among the crowd, the energy was undeniable. Spectators lined the streets, cheering and snapping photos, while others donated on the spot or pledged support online. ESPY, the event’s stylish and fearless organizer, once again proved that fashion and philanthropy are a powerful combination.
And behind the laughter, playful poses, and camera flashes was a meaningful message: that talking about men’s health, especially mental health, is no longer off-limits. In fact, it’s vital.
Whether you walked, donated, or simply cheered from the sidelines, thank you for supporting Naked ESPY 2025. Together, we proved that when it comes to making a difference, vulnerability might just be our greatest strength.
See you next year, and don’t forget your boxers!
