In honour of Bret Hart’s prostate cancer surgery, Calgary’s Prostate Cancer Centre is hosting the fourth annual Bret Hart Men’s Health Day clinic. On February 15th, the Centre will be providing free baseline prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood tests to men between the ages of 40 and 80. Men aged 18 and older will receive free blood pressure, blood glucose and waist circumference measurements. Participants will have the chance to meet Bret “The Hitman” Hart and take a picture with him. There will be free parking available for all participants.
In Alberta, 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. When detected early, prostate cancer is one of the most successfully treated types of cancer.
The staff and volunteers at the Prostate Cancer Centre are dedicated to educating men about the importance of early detection.
