While Mike Wilson was at Agrium’s helm as its CEO for the past 13 years, he spent 10 of those years dedicated to spreading the word about prostate cancer and actively supporting the Prostate Cancer Centre (PCC) located in Calgary, Alberta. To recognize his dedication and recent retirement, Agrium made a $1-million dollar donation to the PCC. The official name of the gift is The Mike Wilson Active Surveillance Clinic. Current President & CEO Chuck Magro (pictured second from left) was thrilled to be on hand during the dedication ceremony and cheque presentation. The PCC is an independently operated and funded entirely through the generosity of donors and sponsors. Agrium has been a proud supporter from the start. One of our greatest accomplishments with PCC was the development of the Combines for Cures™ program that launched in central Alberta in 2012 with a noble purpose to save the lives of rural men. The Combines for Cures™ program reaches its rural demographic through a MAN VAN™, a mobile unit staffed by Centre staff and nurses; they offer on-the-spot baseline PSA testing at a variety of locations.
