A huge variety of motorcycles were on parade Saturday June 14 at the Telus Ride for Dad in Calgary. A parade of this magnitude with over 600 riders is something that should be experienced at least once in a lifetime. Is it true that the bike a man chooses showcases his personality? If so then Harley-Davidson riders like to take it easy and cruise, Yamaha riders like style, Suzuki riders are frugal and the Kawasaki riders are fast. Whatever the bike type we know for certain that the hundreds of men participating in the ride have deep pockets and big hearts! A cheque was presented to Dr. Morley Hollenburg for $75,000 to continue to conduct research with Dr. Eric Hyndman at the Prostate Cancer Centre. This brings the total raised from this ride to over $351,000 since 2008. A special thank you goes out the Ride’s executive team who spend months organizing and raising funds for ride day. In addition they continue to be one of the best supporters of the Prostate Cancer Centre’s Man Van™ program. They book and host several clinics throughout the year in a variety of locations ensuring all men receive the message that early detection saves lives. Thank you Calgary riders!
