Surely one of the best ‘guys nights’ going is the Italian Sportsmen’s Dinner Association annual dinner. In the past 53 years, this full-on fun event has raised more than $1.583 million for myriad organizations from the Calgary Italian Club and Calgary International Film Festival to Alberta Children’s Hospital and The Bill Powers Media Scholarship, to name but a few. Further, the dinner honors three high-school students of Italian descent who excel in both athletics and academics by awarding a $5000 scholarship and runners up $1000 and $500.
