First Month of the Combines for Cures MAN VAN - Prostate Cancer Centre

Combines for Cures has rolled into high gear during its first month of operation with the new Rural MAN VAN. We have attended a variety of events providing prostate cancer awareness and PSA blood testing: 4-H on Parade, Crop Production Services Grower events, Pete Knight Days and the Airdrie Rodeo.

While the reception has been enthusiastic, we know it will take time to build awareness and we look forward to being at the World Ploughing Championships and other large farm events to continue to spread our lifesaving message throughout the summer.

In Alberta, 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. When detected early, prostate cancer is one of the most successfully treated types of cancer.

The staff and volunteers at the Prostate Cancer Centre are dedicated to educating men about the importance of early detection.
