Dad’s Day at the Dawgs

Attending the baseball game with your kids on Sunday June 16, proved to be one of the best Father’s Day gifts around. The Okotoks Dawgs, the Western Wheel and the Prostate Cancer Centre joined forces to ensure dads in the local area knew how much they were loved.

The MAV VAN did a short stop at Seaman Stadium and offered dads a great Father’s Day package of a free PSA blood test and a pair of boxer shorts. Any kids that brought their dads to the MAN VAN also received a free gift. The Centre passed around boxer shorts and asked the Dawgs fans to help fill their shorts – by the end of the game the shorts were full – to the tune of 2000 dollars.

Thank you to William Gardner, Angie Cox and all the Dawgs team as well as John Barlow and Paul Rockley and the Western Wheel for their support. Thanks also to the 77 men who took the time out of their special day to get a PSA test and ensure they will experience many more days with the Dawgs.
