The reviews are in and it’s official: The 16th Annual Bill Brooks Prostate Cancer Benefit was a smash hit. Attracting more than 700 partygoers dressed in every Broadway inspiration from West Side Story to Guys and Dolls, our own Broadway Billy Brooks hosted what is undoubtedly one of the best parties with a purpose on this city’s event calendar. The evening raised close to $600,000, bringing the event’s 16-year total to nearly $6 million for the fight against prostate cancer. Guests arrived to a transformed Hotel Arts, where waiters passed out Manhattans, martinis from an ice-carved luge and exquisite hors d’oeuvres hand-crafted by the hotel’s culinary team. Chef stations included an oyster bar, carved Noble Farms duck breast and the event’s famous sushi bar. Dancing shoes soon kicked up on the dance floor with DJ Scott Clarke, followed by the incredible musical stylings of Kyemara, belting out fan favourites, including Daft Punk, Adele and Lady Gaga. Elevate Auction’s Bill Brown brought a new level of excitement with incredible live auction items, including dream vacations in Greece, Grand Cayman and Hawaii. The silent auction team kept up their end with shopping sprees at Holt Renfrew, a spectacular scotch offering and VIP access to myriad events around town.
