All You Need is Love...and a Free PSA Blood Test for your Valentine - Prostate Cancer Centre

On Friday, February 12th Calgary’s Prostate Cancer Centre offered free baseline PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) blood tests to men over 40 at the Centre. Men lined up at the Centre at 7:00 am to take part. Those that participated, received a rose and a Valentine card to give to their sweethearts – verifying the fact that they are looking after themselves so they can be around for the ones they love.

In Alberta, 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. When detected early, prostate cancer is one of the most successfully treated types of cancer.

The staff and volunteers at the Prostate Cancer Centre are dedicated to educating men about the importance of early detection.
