Job Type: Part-time, (3 days per week)

Part-time RN Position

Position Overview

The RN role is a clinical position. The RN assists the Clinical Director with catheter and staple removal and the Clinics; assists with questionnaire content and clinical evaluation of the prostate cancer patients and data entry.

Duties and Responsibilities

Information sessions
– Attend (and coordinate) biweekly information sessions
– Answer patient questions regarding treatment options

Post-Op care
– Catheter removal/insertion
– Staple removal
– Booking patients for appointments and post-operative classes
– Telephone triage and patient support
– Hospital visits; includes teaching

Continence and sexual Health
– Managing outgoing/incoming questionnaires
– Data entry
– Telephone triage and patient support
– Pre and post-operative patient assessments


– Licensed in Alberta and in good standing with CARNA
– Minimum 2 years urological nursing experience/acute care required
– Certificate in Sexual Health education or completion when hired
– Knowledge of prostate cancer and cystectomies is an asset
– Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
– EMR experience is an asset (WOLF)
– Strong skills required in assessment, judgement, intrapersonal relations and counselling
