• What are your reasons?

I didn't think any event in my life would ever be more inspiring than becoming a father. Then I became a grandfather. Seeing my family grow gave me an incredible feeling of accomplishment and a new found vitality. They are my reason.

  • What are your reasons?

There's a lot of world out there. You don't realize it until you get out and see it. Retirement has been great for that - I have the freedom to camp in the Okanogan, ski in Fernie and spend the summer with my grandkids in Toronto. Every trip is one more reason.

  • What are your reasons?

It seems so long ago now. When we both promised, "...in sickness and in health", I know we both hoped for the latter. I do everything I can to keep it that way - exercise, check-ups, the whole-nine. I wear my reason on my left hand.

  • What are your reasons?

Fishing has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. Every Sunday me and a couple of my buddies head out to our spot and spend the day casting. We have a few laughs, share few memories and, if we're lucky, catch a new fish. That's my reason.

  • What are your reasons?

When I first saw my granddaughter, I thought, "I have so much to teach her, so much experience to pass on." Little did I know she would be the one teaching me. Every time I see her I rediscover the simple joys of youth, energy and curiosity. She's my reason.

  • What are your reasons?

I'm no scratch golfer. Not sure I'd enjoy it as much if I took it that seriously. I just like spending some time outside, staying active and getting away from everything for a couple hours. The sound of a tee shot on a sunny moring. That's my reason.

  • What are your reasons?

There's nothing quite like watching your daughter walk across the stage and into a whole new stage of life. Sharing and celebrating that experience with her was one of the proudest moments of my life. She's my reason.
